Families with boys celebrate this day to wish their sons good fortune. The traditional decoration emphasizes the Warrior Samurai Doll (Mushaningyo), Warrior's Helmet (Kabuto) and Sword, Bow and Arrows which symbolize strength, power and success in life. Traditionally special sweets, rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves and mochi wrapped in oak leaves are served during this particular day.
