A band of Jewish rebels led by Maccagee confronted the Syrian army and though vastly outnumbered, they drove the foreigners from their land. When they entered Jerusalem the Holy Temple was in shambles. They cleansed and rededicated it but could only find a day's worth of oil to light the menorah. Miraculously it burned for 8 days and to this day the observance of Hannukah celebrates the miracle.This item includes a gift box.
