I wanted to design my Mary, Queen of Roses, to depict sweetness, humility and strength. She wears an abundant crown of roses, as the rose symbolizes love. She is dressed in rich hues of blue to symbolize her strength. She rests her cheek against the baby's head in a gesture of human motherly love. Mary stands on soft verdant earth as a reminder that she is as close as a whisper or a prayer. Although the world is in a state of great change and upheaval, my wish is that when your gaze falls on Mary, Queen of Roses, you remember the goodness of the human Spirit and the power of the greatest human attribute we have at our disposal at all times...love.
