Jennifer, Angel of Feathered Friends

Jennifer and her feathered friends are traveling through the snow-quiet countryside with Santa, the Christmas Greeter. The birds keep Jennifer amused with their happy chirping songs and fluttering dance through the air. To Jenny's delight, one little feathered creature lands on her hand and is offered seeds while another songbird warbles his melody while perched on angel wings. Jennifer believes that each living creature wants to be loved and also gives love in return. Jennifer carries a basket filled with food for the little birds, as well as for Santa, who needs much care and nourishment throughout the arduous Christmas journey. The happy entourage walks and flutters softly through the night, bringing love and peace to all whom they meet. This piece, Jennifer, Angel of Feathered Friends, is dedicated in memory of Jennifer Marie Rollins, in friendship and love to her parents, Bill and Debbie Gordon, Pipka collectors. Bill and Debbie are avid collectors of Pipka's Santas, Angels and other items. A few years ago we met them and instantly became friends. Their daughter, Jennifer, was killed in an automobile accident on March 9, 2002. We had only met Jennifer for a brief moment, a year earlier at the Chicago Collectible Show. We felt it was fitting to make Pipka's wonderful Angel as a reminder for all who knew Jennifer, and for those who have lost loved ones, that they are now Angels watching over them. Jennifer was married to Andy Rollins, and they have two girls, Christina Marie and Hillary Michelle. They lived in Rio, Illinois. She worked at Knox County Nursing Home and enjoyed helping the elderly. She loved being a brownie leader and room mother, making Christina and Hillary her life. Andy was the other love of her life and their love was evident. Andy had cancer in 2001, and all through his treatments Jennifer was there. She got her beautiful red wavy hair cut and donated 13 inches to ‘Locks Of Love', so they could make a wig for a cancer patient. Jennifer has her hands full as an Angel. Besides her family and her parents, she has to keep an eye on two older brothers, two younger ones and three younger sisters. Our hope is that this Angel brings Jennifer's family some comfort.
