He can leap up to 15 feet in the air and can even jump backwards. The Arctic Wolf usually runs with other wolves in packs of six, but also enjoys his kindred spirit with the Arctic Hare and Fox. The Arctic Fox, like his friend the Arctic Hare, turns white in the winter and is gray-brown in the summer. His fur is very dense, and his best feature is his big, long bushy tail. His tail is called a sweep, which helps the fox change direction quickly. The bushy tail also keeps the fox's nose and feet warm when it curls up to sleep. The Arctic Hare enjoys the company of his two companions.This piece retired August 2005.
