It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the spring when Dick & his buddy Harry promised to play without their usual squabbling. Everything was going fine until Dick wanted to remove a small stone that was in the way of his putting line on the green of the 3rd hole. Harry didn't want to let him remove it, but after a heated debate he finally agreed. When Dick removed the stone, a big clump of dirt stuck to it, which left an enormous hole in the green. From that moment on, Dick lost his usual concentration & calm. He completely messed up his usually superb swing on the remainder of the holes. It wasn't because of the errors he made, the broken club, or the several missing balls that Dick was so angry. It was the sneering smile on Harry's face as he sat behind the wheel of that little cart. That "I told you so" grin...was completely unbearable!
